Communiqué N. 1

From the General Preparations Committee for Father Dehon’s Beatification

Dear Brothers,

As we already hinted in our letter of 19 January 2005 – Prot. N. 16/2005, the Provinces, Regions and Districts have been asked that the Committees set up in the Provinces, Regions and Districts should collaborate strictly keeping in touch with the General Committee.

From various parts (individuals, communities, provinces, etc.) we are requested to explain how about the presence of our religious at the Holy Mass scheduled on 23 April at 11:00 o’clock in the Generalate’s house and about the acquisition of tickets for the day of the Beatification and the General Audience, etc.

About this we’d like to state precisely that we prefer that every community or single religious should first of all call on their own committee or the office of their own Province, which, with due observance of the time limit indicated in our letter of 19-02-2005, will inform the Generalate.

And this because the Generalate as such can hardly give due attention to the wishes of individual religious one by one.

In the same letter we asked that before 10 March 2005 the requests of the various Provinces/Regions/Districts which are collecting the requests received from their members and communties should be directed to the Secretary general in Rome: "mailto:secgen@dehon.it" or to the Generalate’s fax: +39.06.660.56.317. About this we’d like to remind you of some points.

1. Indicate the name and first name of anyone of those who will attend the Holy Mass in the Generalate’s house on 23 April at 11:00 o’clock (as a matter of course this is not meant for the religious already present in Rome and living in the community of the Generalate and the International College).

2. One and the same ticket is needed and sufficient for the Beatification Mass and for the Audience with the Holy Father. (The hour of this audience on Sunday 24th has not yet been notified by the Holy See). As for communicating the total number of tickets requested every Province/Region/District can choose by itself the way it wants to follow. This may be done by one of two different ways:

(1) by indicating the total number of persons coming from the Province/Region/District and at the same time indicating the name of the person hold responsible for obtaining the tickets for their participants all at once from our general Postulator, Father Evaristo Martínez de Alegría,;

(2) or by indicating the number of persons per community or pilgrim group, at the same time indicating for every community or pilgrim group the name of a responsible to whom the tickets are to be handed.

We remind you that every ticket will be accompanied with a back of smart tricks (such as a cap, a neckerchief, a rosary, a booklet and so on) at the price of 10,00 Euro.

Those who have organized the trip by means of agencies that have also taken care of ordering the necessary number of tickets, can just as well order these bags from us at the same price, if they indicate explicitly on the form they have to send to the Generalate that they request the bags for their own participants without ordering tickets from us.

3. We ask you also to complete the remaining boxes of the form annexed to the letter of 19-01-2005, Prot.N. 16/2005.

4. As for all the payments that are to be made for the Beatification (accomodation, bags etc...), they will be charged to every Province’s account, and the Province will take care of refunding its expenses following its usual path. This because the time at disposal of the Generalate will be too short for making out invoices and have them paid by single persons and various groups. Therefore, the Generalate will take charge of sending afterwards the bills of the specified expenses that any Province/Region/District will have to refund.

5. We recall to your mind the possibility for groups of pilgrims to visit the Generalate’s house during the days of the Beatification. For these visits, however, they’ll have to contact the Superior of the International College, Father Luigi Mostarda, in order to agree with him upon the day and the hour of the visit. You may contact him on his e-mail address: luigimost@email.it.

We thank you for your collaboration and we greet you in Corde Jesu, on behalf of the General Preparations Committee.
