Fr. Andreas Madya Sriyanto, SCJ, was the fifth and final person to be elected May 29 to the General Council of the Priests of the Sacred Heart.
Novice master for the Indonesian Province (Fr. Tom Fix is filling in for him right now while he is at the chapter), Fr. Madya is 41, professed his first vows in 1982 and was ordained in 1992. He has done graduate studies in dogmatic theology, and is one of the first students who took part in the U.S. Province's ESL (English as a Second Language) program in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Fr. Madya also speaks Italian, a bit of French, as well as the language of his country.
Also elected by the chapter this morning was the vice-general: Fr. Claudio Weber, SCJ. As noted yesterday, Fr. Weber, a member of the Central Brazilian Province, was the first member of the council to be elected.

Le P. Andreas Madya Sriyanto, SCJ, a été le cinquième et dernier conseiller général des Prêtres du Sacré-Coeur élu en ce 29 mai.
Maître des novices de la Province d'Indonésie (le P. Tom Fix le remplace actuellement pour la période du Chapitre), le P. Madya est âgé de 41 ans, a fait sa première profession en 1982 et a été ordonné en 1992. Il a étudié la théologie dogmatique et est l'un des premiers étudiants du programme d'anglais langue seconde (ESL) organisé à Hales Corners, Wisconsin. Le P. Madya parle aussi italien, un peu de français, ainsi que la langue de son pays d'origine.
On a aussi élu ce matin le vice-général, le P. Claudio Weber, SCJ. Comme nous l'avons mentionné hier, le P. Weber, membre de la Province du Brésil du Centre, a été le premier conseiller élu.
