Three of the five general councilors were elected today during the afternoon sessions of the 21st General Chapter.
Fr. Cláudio Weber, SCJ, of the Central Brazilian Province, was the first elected. Fr. Weber is 58 and professed his first vows with the congregation in 1972; he was ordained a year later. Fr. Weber has served as provincial superior, in parish ministry and in formation.
The second general councilor elected was Fr. Zbigniew Bogacz, SCJ, provincial superior of the Polish Province. He is 42, professed his first vows in 1980 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1986. Fr. Bogacz has been a provincial councilor and a provincial secretary.
Fr. Peter McKenna, SCJ, was the third and final general councilor to be elected today. A member of the Canadian Region, Fr. McKenna is 53, professed his first vows in 1978 and was ordained in 1984. Before the merge of French and English-speaking Canada, he was provincial superior of the Anglo Canadian Province. He serves on several boards, including the SCJs' Sacred Heart Southern Missions in the U.S. Province. Before entering administrative work, he was involved in social outreach programs to the poor.

Trois des cinq conseillers généraux ont été élus aujourd'hui, au cours des sessions d'après-midi du 21ème Chapitre Général.
Le P. Cláudio Weber, SCJ, de la Province du Brésil du Centre, a été le premier élu. Le P. Weber, 58 ans, a fait sa première profession dans la Congrégation en 1972 et a été ordonné l'année suivante. Le P. Weber a été Supérieur Provincial, et a également travaillé en paroisse et en formation.
Le deuxième conseiller général à être élu a été le P. Zbigniew Bogacz, SCJ, Supérieur Provincial de la Province de Pologne. Il est âgé de 42 ans, a fait profession en 1980 et a été ordonné prêtre en 1986. Le P. Bogacz a aussi été conseiller provincial et secrétaire provincial.
Enfin, le P. Peter McKenna, SCJ, a été élu en troisième lieu. Membre de la Région du Canada, le P. McKenna a 53 ans, a fait profession en 1978 et a été ordonné en 1984. Avant l'union des Canada francophone et anglophone, il a été Supérieur Provincial de la Province du Canada anglais. Il a siégé sur différents conseils, dont celui de Sacred Heart Southern Missions dans la Province des États-Unis. Avant ces différentes tâches d'administration, il a travaillé activement dans des projets en faveur des pauvres.

Três dos cinco Conselheiros Gerais foram eleitos esta tarde, no decorrer das sessões do XXI Capítulo Geral.
O Pe. Cláudio Weber, dehoniano da Província do Brasil Central foi o primeiro a ser eleito. O Pe. Weber tem 58 anos e fez a primeira profissão na Congregação em 1972, sendo ordenado sacerdote um ano mais tarde. O Pe. Weber desempenhou o cargo de Superior Provincial, trabalhou na pastoral paroquial e na formação.
O segundo Conselheiro Geral eleito foi o Pe. Zbigniew Bogacz, dehoniano, e actual Superior Provincial da Polónia. Tem 42 anos de idade, professou em 1980 e foi ordenado sacerdote em 1986. O Pe. Bogacz foi Conselheiro Provincial e Secretário Provincial.
O Pe. Peter McKenna, dehoniano, foi o terceiro e último Conselheiro a ser eleito hoje. É membro da Região do Canadá, tem 53 anos, fez a sua primeira profissão em 1978 e foi ordenado em 1984. Antes da união do Canadá-Inglês e Canadá-Francês numa única Região, o Pe. McKenna era o Superior Provincial da Província do Canadá-Inglês. Desempenhou diversos serviços, incluindo o trabalho na Missão SCJ do Sagrado Coração, no Sul dos Estados Unidos. Antes de entrar para o Governo da Província, dedicava-se a programas de apoio social para os pobres.
